Title: Annual Giving Manager
Reports to: Director of Development
Area of Responsibility: Development
Status: Full-Time Salaried, Exempt
Works directly with Chief Advancement Officer and Director of
Development to cultivate, solicit and steward contributions from
individuals and business and civic leadership, ensuring strong
fiscal support for the Annual Fund, Colorado Symphony Ball, and
Colorado Symphony Education Programs. Represents the organization
at public events to enhance relationships in the community and to
build the donor base. The Annual Giving Manager will create and
implement strategies to ensure revenue targets are hit, while
maintaining high flexibility in response to shifting
Primary Duties and
Prospect and Cultivate Relationships
Work daily to cultivate existing and new corporate donor
relationships with the intent of sustaining and ultimately
increasing giving. This includes prospects for all relevant
campaigns, including Annual Individual Giving, Annual Corporate
Underwriting, Colorado Symphony Ball, and Colorado Symphony
Collaborate with members of the Board of Trustees and
Development Committee to identify, solicit, and cultivate corporate
prospects. Attend Development Committee meetings and meet
one-on-one with members to leverage individual and corporate
Manage goals associated with donor cultivation, solicitation,
stewardship and giving.
Represent the organization at Symphony events and concerts as
Contract Development, Renewal, and
Pitch corporations on becoming Season or Series Sponsors by
detailing different campaign opportunities including marketing
impressions and benefits received. Run meetings with corporate
prospects and current partners to provide corporate partner
Collaborate directly with the Chief Advancement Officer and
Director of Development to manage associated processes, including
communications, program implementation, proposal construction and
In assistance with the Development Associate and Grant Writer,
work daily to ensure timely, accurate completion of follow up,
proposals, pledges, benefits fulfillment, and fund agreements.
Work with Director of Development to document and track YTD
giving and all associated strategies in the database system.
Maintain regular campaign status reports.
Cultivate new corporations by taking the necessary relationship
building steps that lead to Ball Table sales exclusively and/or
within a contract.
Work with Event Coordinator and Chief Advancement Officer to
execute logistics surrounding the Colorado Symphony Ball, including
adequate assessment of the budget, layout of event space and
benefit fulfillment for ticket and table buyers. Serve as main
event liaison for all corporate attendees.
Corporate cultivation should continue as part of a stewardship
program once gifts are made. Report to corporations on the use of
their gifts, thank them, and keep them involved in order to
cultivate them for steadily increasing sponsorship levels over a
long period of time.
Internal Business Operation
Budget and Planning
Assist the Director of Development in developing and management
of the department's budget in accordance with guidelines set by the
Chief Financial Officer.
Assist in budgeting corporate goals.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Attends concerts of the orchestra regularly.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of
Bachelor's degree required; significant work experience can
substitute for the degree.
3+ years of experience in areas related to corporate
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must have excellent written and verbal communication
Exceptional interpersonal skills, both in person and by phone,
with patrons, trustees, staff members and volunteers.
Consistent professionalism at the highest level with great

strategies with knowledge of fundraising best practices.
Demonstrated leadership and the ability to successfully manage

Background in classical music is preferred.
Equipment to be used
Microsoft software including word, excel, publisher, power
point applications.Tessitura & SharePoint knowledge preferred.
Must be able to handle the physical demands commensurate with
an active administrative position and concert schedule including
lifting up to 25 lbs. of equipment.
Personal vehicle necessary to transport equipment to off-site
events if necessary.
Evening and weekend hours required from time to time.
