The Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School Board of
Directors and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Office of Catholic
Education ("OCE") seeks a successful, dynamic, innovative, and
results-driven leader for President.
Neumann Goretti is in the second year of a five-year
transformation process. The foundation to improve the quality of
education for our students, enhance the culture of our school
community and to upgrade our presence in the market have been laid.
We seek a talented individual who is excited about the prospects of
change and improvement, and is committed to the mission of
improving the Catholic urban educational experience. The ideal
candidate will have the vision and capacity to continue to lead the
overall transformation process.

Leading all development and fund raising activities, supported
by a dynamic development team.
Providing leadership for all areas of school life and culture
development and working closely with the Principal, who is charged
with and directly responsible for the academic program.
Planning and Strategy- developing sound and practical plans to
guide the operations of the school over the short and medium term
Creating and utilizing all available resources to:
oProvide scholarships and tuition assistance to make the school
affordable to all qualified students who want to attend Neumann
oSupport academic program innovation and enhancements.
oImprove and maintain facilities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate or Advanced degrees in Education or Business
Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility for
organizations and their development and success
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills:
Proven ability to engage and inspire a wide range of

The President must be a practicing Catholic as verified by the
pastor of the parish in which the applicant is registered.

Our mission is to provide a premier college preparatory
education in a faith-based Catholic environment that prepares
students to succeed in college and in life. Our focus on academics
and character will provide a foundation for future success.
Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School is a
co-ed college preparatory school located in South Philadelphia. The
school provides a challenging academic curriculum with twenty-one
Advanced Placement offerings that develop students' minds and
prepare them for success in college and beyond. Neumann-Goretti is
a Catholic school that respects all faiths, recognizing our diverse
student community. Current enrollment is 450 students with a
student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. Freshman enrollment has increased
from 83 students for school year 2016 to 125 for 2017 and is on
track to be 145 for 2018. Last year we had 22 net "transfer-in"
The local neighborhood is growing and becoming increasingly
diverse. South Philadelphia is one of the primary growth areas in
Philadelphia and the region. Since 2010, there has been a dramatic
increase in the population of 25-44 year olds. The redevelopment of
homes and businesses is seen everywhere and every day. As new
cultures are introduced to the community, the proud heritage of the
community shows even brighter. All of this leads to South
Philadelphia being an exciting place to live and work.
Approximately 50% of our known alumni still live in the four zip
codes that are considered to be South Philadelphia.
Students develop leadership skills through active participation
in our numerous community service programs, sports teams, clubs,
and other school-sponsored activities. Our students appreciate and
understand the value of our activities, and because most live close
to the school, they feel comfortable extending their day to expand
their horizons. "Commute time" to our safe school is minimal, so
our students can focus more time on their growth and

environment allows the faculty and administration to know students
personally, and these interactions help create an environment of
